A shot of adrenaline-fueled post-punk, Frenchy and the Punk is a powerhouse musical couple hailing from NY. French-born Samantha Stephenson's vocals have a gothy heft that has been likened to Grace Slick meets Siouxsie Sioux. Guitarist and live-looping wizard, Scott Helland is a veteran of the Massachusetts Hardcore Punk scene where he cut his teeth as bassist of Deep Wound, the legendary hardcore band he formed with J Mascis and Lou Barlow (now of Dinosaur jr) and Outpatients. Frenchy and the Punk have crafted a sound that is both nostalgic and refreshing delivered in an unorthodox way. Together Samantha and Scott’s compelling stage presence and spellbinding delivery creates an infectious and mesmerizing wall of sound that Post-Punk.com calls “…a wonderful alchemy of complementary energies.” Signed by Distortion Productions, they released their most recent single, the poignant 'War on War' in February 2026.
